Fuel From  waste plastic - New technologies make it possible to convert used plastics—such as nonrecyclable grocery store bags and e-waste—back into oil, a process that several companies will commercialize in 2012. not only does this keep plastics out of landfills, it’s also cheaper to produce than traditional oil. “It seems almost like science fiction, but the technology is now here,” says Greg Wilkinson of environmental consulting firm Third Oak associates.
