This time the banglore trip consist of a conference cum CEO conclave and some meetups..
The SmartTechie magazine in partnership with SiliconIndia had organized this Startup City conference .. was reflecting on the day that was. I have only one comment .. wow !
The whole day Nimhans Convention center(where the event was held) was buzzing with entrepreneurs, wannabe entrepreneurs, VCs, corporates and so on …If someone wanted a reflection on how Bangalore’s entrepreneur community is thriving s/he should have just visited the event.
There were around 250 startup companies and MNC's participating the event..Most of them have put up their stalls..
Sessions-01
First session was on " Concept to Success: Milestones for startups " by Ashish Gupta, MD of Helion Venture partners.
Session-02
Then UnniKrishnan, Marketing Director of Sun Microsystems gave a talk on "Sun's startup Essentials program..I really enjoyed it..
Session-03
Then came the most interesting session "Innovative Marketing Applications in Technology " by IIM-B professor Dr.Y.L.R.Murthy..
Some of Moorthi’s candid remarks like
‘Marketing is too serious a stuff to leave it to Marketing professors or Marketing professionals’
‘Technology has the shelf life of a banana’ got me thinking. How true!
The Marketing Panel discussion was quite insightful as Paul Murphy, Director of Innovation, Microsoft India emphasized on the importance of Business case, on building products that customer wants, and Marketing in Promoting ideas, Bharath Chinamanthur from Amazon India Development Center and Suresh Vedula, Head - Business Mobility, from Nokia India expounded on their experiences.
Session-04
It was on cloud computing by some Amazon.com Evangelist.
Session-05
It was on " My Entrepreneurial Journey" by Rajendra Mishra(R.K.Misra ) of Change India Movement. He was positively charging the audiences..I enjoyed this session too coz its R.K.Mishra right..!
CEO Conclave:
Sharad Sharma ,Yahoo India CEO, proved to be a great moderator in the CEO Conclave. On the panel there were Kris Gopalakrishnan,CEO-Infosys,Praveen, President-Intel India and Vivek ,Country Manager of Dell India...It was alos a good session participated by around 120 CEO's from startup companies and established companies..
Sharad Sharma made a very apt comment about Bangalore and it’s start-up friendly environment.
” Even in Services boom it somehow transpired that Bangalore based start-ups like Wipro , Infosys were much more successful then ones from rest of India(Pune, Delhi and so on ..). It must have something to do with the fact that these entrepreneurs were much more willing to reinvent their companies when needed. ”
Meet the VC's:
In this meet, there were around 12 Venture Capital firms took part including YES bank,Ojas Ventures, Sequoia Capital India,IDG Ventures,Helion Ventures,Cannan Partners etc..
BT2020 readers meetup:
Then I had my own BT2020 readers meet up which you can find at BT2020-Bangalore readers meet up video cast
Meet with Vikranth:
I just moved out of the bio-diesel illusion and wanna explore all possible renewable energy technologies...Thanks to Mr.Vikranth of Rudra Bioventures...It was a meetup with him recently at Banglore where he has broadened my mindset over alternative energy...Though many people advised me to explore all possible technologies over the years, it was that meetup at Banglore that changed my mindset ...
And then I met up with my school,UG and PG college mets...Thats it..!

Isha is changing me..!
When I was schooling, during summer duration I was put at many RSS camps and Ramakrishna Maths where I learnt many forms of yoga, meditation, pranayama and food...But I was following all these only upto my 12th standard..
After entering in to college at VIT, everything has gone with the wind though I tried many a times to continue doing what I was doing at my school days..But all in vain..
Now am into the professional life..so I felt the importance of getting back to basics to keep me mentally, physically and emotionally fit and healthy..
So, I enrolled myself to IshaYoga 's 7 day programme...though I still try for continuous daily yoga.. I dont not want to be spiritual but just take the good points in these programs and systems which are scientifically proven.
It has changed my food habits..Now I am into natural foods twice a day taking modern food once in a day..I take raw vegetables and fruits as my dinner & pulses and some juices as my breakfast..So now I see myself going only once to hotel and vegetable market many a times...I have been doing this from the day-1 when I heard about the relationship between food habits and emotions/mental health.
So many taught me about natural food at many point of time..But it was only at Isha, I changed myself to it..
